This literacy-based and CYFD-certified out of school program is designed to help students improve academic performance in core subject areas. The program offers homework help, thematic learning activities, field trips, hands-on experiential learning, and much more.
7:00–8:30 am: Before School Program
2:50–6:00 pm: After School Program
7:00–6:00 pm: Summer Program
Enrollment is open to Kirtland students only. Acceptance into the program is based on availability. This is a fee-based program, but if you qualify for the child care subsidy the program is free to you. All parents are required to donate volunteer time in the program in order for us to maintain the low cost. Private pay is available for families who do not qualify for CYFD assistance.
Community School Initiative (CSI) is free and is sponsored by City of Albuquerque funds.
These funds provide opportunities for your student to participate in the morning, and after-school clubs that encourages improved student learning, stronger families, and healthier communities. We offer 2-5 after-school clubs daily.
7:30 - 8:30 am: Early Bird Reading Club (All Year)
2:50 - 4:30 pm: Hands-On Activities (12 weeks in Fall, 12 weeks in Spring)
Students will sign-in in the cafeteria and receive a meal and short supervised recess. Then their teacher will pick them up for clubs.
Parents must pick up their child at 4:30 pm outside the gym, or you can enroll your child in the Kirtland Korner program that is open until 6:00 pm every school day.
